My First Post.

The reluctant Blogger.

Well, here it is; my very first blog post.  I'm not really sure I want to be exposing myself on-line like this, but at least I'm not vlogging; the mere thought of doing that really terrifies me - plus, I'm camera shy!  Anyway, despite the fact that I'm probably old enough to be the Mother of your average blogger, I've decided to take the plunge and give it a go, what've I got to lose?  Haha!  No, don't answer that.

At this stage I'm not really sure what I'm going to write either, but as there's a high chance that no-one will read past the first paragraph or so, why am I worried?   After all, what kind of person would be interested in the random ramblings of an overweight, fifty-something, welly-wearing, dog-loving, chicken-keeping, horse-riding, gin-drinking, Landy-owning, pencil artist and part-time secretary/book-keeper that also likes gardening and photography?  It'll be a small audience!  However, everyone seems to be blogging nowadays, and those 'in the know' assure me that it's the way to go, to help to raise awareness of my Artwork, so, here goes!

As the weeks pass, my aim is to post pictures and anecdotes, together with dates and venues for any Exhibitions or Fairs where my Artwork will be on display.  I will also try and post occasional works-in-progress pictures (when I remember to take them), and I always welcome any feedback.  I will endeavour to post something every couple of weeks or so.  Personally, I don't like being bombarded with 'stuff' so I won't inflict myself on you too often, but do I hope to have bits and pieces to tell you about.  I also plan to be featuring other people; small businesses and organisations, both local to me and further afield, that I think you may be interested in, so share the love!

I'm often around on social media in the evenings, so please feel free to get in touch, via the links at the foot of the page.  I also welcome any suggestions you may have for drawings subjects.  Learning other peoples' ideas is a great way of keeping things fresh and exciting, and it stops me from getting stuck in a rut.  I draw for pleasure, but I also occasionally take on commissions when I have the time.  I'm generally asked to draw Dogs and Horses, mainly, but the occasional Cat too.  I would also like to try my hand at drawing people, but as yet have not been approached, so we'll have to see what this year brings.

Anyway, if you've made it this far, thanks for popping by!
